EYEdeal Edits
You've worked for months, maybe YEARS on your manuscript and you need another eye on it before you can move forward.
We provide beta reads for novels, scripts and short stories from
"an average reader" with an eye toward typos, tricky plot points and asking the questions that, when answered in your work, will make your piece stronger.
How I Work
I like to work off right off the page. Print & bind your manuscript, then take a moment to be awed by your
monumental work! WOW! It's REAL!
You can mail it to me or we can meet at a coffee shop where you can hand off your "baby."
I'll pepper your pages with thorough, honest questions and comments that will help you take your writing to the next level. When you get your novel/script back you'll know:
-
If your first chapter/scenes are gripping enough to hold attention.
-
How solidly your characters are developed.
-
Parts of the story that really stand out.
-
If anything doesn't make sense.
-
Obvious errors or inconsistencies.
-
How the plot flows.
-
If there are moments where the story lags.
-
If the dialogue feels natural.
-
If the ending is makes reading the whole book/script worth the time.
Introductory Offer
For a limited time, we are offering beta coverage for $65/hour OR $500 for books or scripts
up to 40,000 words, whichever comes first.
So yeah, that could be a really, really good deal.

Why EYEdeal Edits?
Suzanne has been writing, storytelling, producing, directing and working as a story coach for over a decade. She has a fresh eye for the heart of a story and knows what captures and holds a reader's attention. Recent favorite books include Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus, These Precious Days by Ann Patchett and Signal Fires by Dani Shapiro.
"Suzanne delivered so much more than I expected from a Beta reader. She noticed discrepancies in the story, if I repeated myself within a few pages, caught spelling errors and more. Her keen powers of observation are impressive. I would have been hard pressed to find someone as nice a person
and as good a reader as Suzanne."
